A qualitative phenomenological design was employed, using semi-structured interviews with 15 university students in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis with ATLAS.ti 24, drawing on prospect theory, expectation-disconfirmation theory, and mental accounting. Five themes emerged: shipping costs exceeding Rp10,000–Rp15,000 trigger cancellation; waiting time tolerance of 25–45 minutes is undermined by systematic estimation inaccuracies; fourteen of fifteen informants prioritized cost over speed, reflecting price-dominant decision logic under economic constraint; free shipping and discounts of 30–50% function as behavioral moderators overriding cost and time barriers; and platform-switching occurs at fee differentials as low as Rp5,000, indicating weak transactional loyalty. The three integrated theories most explain student OFD decision-making. Platform operators are advised to maintain shipping costs below Rp10,000 and deploy targeted promotional triggers aligned with identified consumer tolerance boundaries. This study is among the first to establish specific monetary and temporal purchase-barrier thresholds in an Indonesian student OFD context using a multi-theoretical qualitative framework.
Puji Novita Sari Sholeha Tri Asih Ni Luh Sinta Yani Damas Gianlugi Alrizqi Muhammad Hasan Copyright (c) 2026 Puji Novita Sari, Sholeha Tri Asih, Ni Luh Sinta Yani, Damas Gianlugi Alrizqi, Muhammad Hasan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2025-11-22 2025-11-22 11 3 234 250 10.17977/um003v11i32025p234 Does Prosocial Finance Help or Hurt? Examining Frugality, Digital Literacy, And Self-Efficacy in Household Financial Well-Being https://journal-fe.um.ac.id/index.php/jpbm/article/view/713
Family financial well-being is becoming more important today, especially as social changes and digital tools affect daily life. This study looks at how helpful money habits, being careful with spending, and knowing how to use digital financial tools affect family financial well-being, and also how confidence in yourself (self-efficacy) changes these effects. Using a numbers-based approach, the study analyzed data from 384 families in Malang City with structured questionnaires and Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The study shows that helpful money habits, being careful with spending, knowing how to use digital financial tools, and confidence in yourself (self-efficacy) all improve family financial well-being. Interestingly, confidence in yourself can slightly reduce the effect of helpful money habits. On the other hand, it increases the benefits of being careful with money and using digital tools, making them more effective. This study helps us understand family finances and gives useful advice for policymakers to create better financial education and support programs.
Sefira Oktavia Anggraeni Hari Wahyono Satia Nur Maharani Copyright (c) 2026 Sefira Oktavia Anggraeni, Hari Wahyono, Satia Nur Maharani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2025-11-04 2025-11-04 11 3 204 218 10.17977/um003v11i32025p204 A Quantitative Approach to Factors Affecting Generation Z’s Purchasing Decisions on Live Streaming Features in E-Commerce https://journal-fe.um.ac.id/index.php/jpbm/article/view/732
Rapid technological developments have brought about new changes in the digital economy. The live streaming feature in e-commerce is a sign that e-commerce is growing rapidly in Indonesia. This live streaming feature involves various parties, such as influencers who act as streamers, playing a role in explaining and marketing products to build customer trust and influence purchasing decisions, as well as sellers as product providers who are expected to offer high-quality products to enhance customer confidence in those products. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence purchasing decisions in live streaming on e-commerce platforms. This study involved a quantitative method by employing data from the Generation Z population residing in Jakarta, processed using structural equation modelling with SmartPLS version 3.0. This study confirms that streamer interactivity, product quality, and trust have positive and significant effects on Generation Z’s purchasing decisions through live streaming features in e-commerce. Interactive streamers can create an engaging atmosphere, build emotional connections, and strengthen parasocial relationships with consumers, which ultimately encourage purchase decisions.
Alda Putri Rizka Ramayanti Copyright (c) 2026 Alda Putri, Rizka Ramayanti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2025-11-15 2025-11-15 11 3 219 228 10.17977/um003v11i32025p219 Customer Engagement, Perceived Value, and Retired Customers’ Loyalty: The Mediating Role of Affective Commitment https://journal-fe.um.ac.id/index.php/jpbm/article/view/822
This study examines how customer engagement and perceived value influence loyalty among retired customers, with affective commitment serving as a key mediator. The research focuses on retirees of Bank bjb KC Tasikmalaya, a regional development bank operating in a highly competitive financial services environment. The data were collected through purposive sampling, yielding 100 valid responses. The collected data further analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software version 4.0. The findings of the study show that customer engagement and perceived value significantly enhance affective commitment, but do not directly affect loyalty. In addition, the result of this study also indicate that affective commitment can act as a crucial mediator in connecting these factors to loyalty. These results emphasize that emotional bonds play a more prominent role than transactional considerations for retired customers. Furthermore, it raises the practical insights for banks to strengthen long-term relationships through relational engagement strategies.
Evi Ervianti Popy Rufaidah Copyright (c) 2026 Evi Ervianti, Popy Rufaidah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2025-11-17 2025-11-17 11 3 229 233 10.17977/um003v11i32025p229
